Artist's Statement
My passion for art began when I moved from Styria to Vienna in my early 20´s to study grafic design. Since then I´ve been consequently watching the art market by visiting art galleries and exhibitions, reading various publications and talking and working with artists like Maria Lassnig, who used me as a model in one of her earlier paintings. I already knew then that one day I would also be an artist, still it took years to develop my own style and finally discover my message. I never wanted to be one of these various abstract painters, who were very much en vogue in the art market. I strove for my personal style, an idea, a central philosophy for my art, that actually already lay there in my work as a graphic-designer in the advertising industry.

One day I ate an orange and its colourful paper wrapping suddenly opened my eyes. Not only didn´t it reveal the brand name of the orange but also its origin, and I realized that with this exotic fruit I ate the culture, the earth and the vibes of a very special region. Usually nobody is considering this, but for me it was the key to develop my Global Brand Art cycle, that uses the power of brands and their origin to unite west and east, north and south, old and young, religious and not-religious, modern and traditional, yin and yang.
